Frequently Asked Questions

  • Whilst you will find my latest blog articles here on the website as well as a modest sample of my poetry and devotionals, my Patreon is really where I intend to foster community: join us here to keep up to date with all the latest news, and for ongoing conversations on witchcraft and folk magic, fairy faith, and Gallo-Irish polytheism. Patreons also have access to all new articles in advance of their public release.

I am a published author and you can procure my book, The Beheading Game, from Hadean Press.

In June 2024 I presented a lecture at the Magickal Women Conference (Birmingham, UK) dedicated to St Joan of Arc and her relationship to the French fairy faith, and its success led me to later turn this materia into a permanent masterclass available to all.

For a more casual blogging experience, please also consider following me on Instagram. I try to host monthly 24h AMA / Q&A sessions (both in French and in English).

You can also listen to my podcast appearances if you like !

  • “The fairy doctors are generally females. Old women, especially, are considered to have peculiar mystic and supernatural power. They cure chiefly by charms and incantations, transmitted by tradition through many generations; and by herbs, of which they have a surprising knowledge.”

Lady Jane Wilde, Ancient Charms, Mystic Legends, and Superstitions of Ireland (1887)

Fairy doctoring refers to a very particular and specific branch of cunning craft, concerning itself with the skilled knowledge, diagnosing and curing of fairy-related issues. Whilst the term “fairy doctor” is peculiar to Ireland, the craft, practice, trade and work of it is common to all cultures having some sort of Otherworldly denizens equivalent or similar to the Irish sí, andnecessitating a go-between. As a Gloaming Intercessor (a term coined by my good friend, Lailoken), I belong to both worlds and neither, and have a vested interest in cultivating this liminality. My work is one of (re)mediation, diplomacy, and (re)conciliation. You could say that I am an ambassador or envoy, and a member of “fairy clergy” (to borrow author Morgan Daimler’s very apt words), all at once. My role is to help you be a “good neighbour” to those invisible we share the world with.

  • I am an ardent Brighidine (a devotee of the Irish goddess Brighid) and, each month, I propose to add your fire to mine.

Flamekeeping is a monthly devotional ritual. Being a Flamekeeper is a way for me to honour Brighid in an intimate capacity while also inscribing myself more broadly into the practices of an existing community. The goddess has tended the flame for me, within me, for a long time, and in more ways than one. I could go on about how deeply sacred, how achingly beautiful, how profoundly soulful the practice has proven to be. I make a ceremony of it, complete with music, prayers, songs and offerings. It matters to me that the ritual is repeated, that it is an ongoing commitment and not just a one time event.
In 2023, I went on a pilgrimage to Kildare (Ireland) and brought back fire lit from the Solas Bhríde’s flame. As part of a pledge I took with myself prescribing I be more open in the world about my religious beliefs, I decided to extend Flamekeeping practice and issue an open invitation to all who need it, offering to light a candle on your behalf at Brighid’s altar, in what became a monthly community ritual. You can read more on that here, and request your own candle be added to my next shift here.

  • « Gods and ungods » is an English translation of the Irish Gaeilge dé ocus andé, dé agus andé or dée agus andée. It thus is a locution that is relevant only primarily within a Gaelic polytheist or, in my case, pan-Celtic context.
If the Gods are known, and Their stories told, the un-Gods or non-Gods however are more mysterious a designation. Broadly speaking, They are all the retinue of spirits who do not directly qualify as gods – those invisible we share the world with, sometimes understood as attendants of the Gods (husbandry, maidservants or entourage) – a point of view I personally have my reservations about. We can argue specifics and semantics, of course, but to spell it out without metaphor, this would loosely correspond to the Othercrowd, the Gentry, the land spirits and other genius loci, and the Dead, among them the Ancestors of Blood, Craft and Land, Mighty and Beloved (including heroes). This is indeed what I mean when I employ the term, however it is definitely worth remembering that, in a broader Gallo-Irish context, the distinction between gods and ungods is certainly not a clear-cut, definitive one : Gods can be Fae, Fae can be Ancestors, and Ancestors can be Gods. Spirits will often resist the neat taxonomy and typology we try to assign them – something in the human mind being fundamentally at odds with the categorization of Their mercuriality: the more we may seek to control the context, and the more it may prove impossible. This complicates matters further, and yet, at the same time, makes everything so simple: as a Gallo-Irish polytheist, I attend to both.

  • I am self-taught where it pertains to witchcraft and folk magic, but as for fairy doctoring, I was lucky enough to be found, and taught, by a mentor, who provided ritual context to the strange experiences I was going through. Graduating their care, I have been offering professional readings, sessions and consultations since 2017. My network developed rather organically, under the radar at first and by word-of-mouth and recommendation only. This website is my first try at a fully functional, professional platform - i.e., where services are offered in exchange for payment, to people who are not my close loved ones. I also recognize I am one amongst many, in a complex entanglement of traditions, influences, and practitioners - what I called the Hedge. You can read more about this here.

  • In an attempt to be transparent about the main sources which inform my practices (from fairy faith to folk magic, from astrology to witchcraft, and from mythology to folklore), I put together a free Library page. I try to keep it updated, and only recommend that which personally served and worked for me. Feel free to consult it and be inspired by it, but please remember and respect the sacred vow of secrecy some of these initiatory traditions have made: not everything is meant for public knowledge and consumption, and the unseen hand of spirits is a primary factor in the initiation and formation of a prospective student. The best advice I can give, is to find authors and practitioners whose work resonate with you, and go from here.

Presently, I do not offer an official mentorship structure, myself.

  • I take the sacred bond between a student and a teacher extremely seriously, but I am afraid I do not offer mentorship presently - nor do I plan to in the future, for now. However, you are welcome to book a consultation with me: recurring clients are the closest thing to mentees that I have.

  • I am deeply honoured that you would consider working with me - thank you.

The best way to find out more about my current booking diary and services (some of which entirely free of charge), is to consult my Services page and read through it attentively. Here you will learn about my beliefs, practices and honed specialties, as well as find some helpful guidelines, policies and testimonials to determine whether or not I would be the right practitioner for you at this point in time. Then, you can use the contact form to book with me.

Currently, I am only offering one-on-one consultations, and have chosen not to be a “spiritual emergency worker” anymore. That means I prefer a gentle pace, and would value it if we could take our time. I believe our work together starts with holding space for yourself. My goal during our sessions is to show you the compassionate listening and support you deserve, and provide you with the tools you need to flourish on your own.

In the past, due to the often delicate nature of my work, I aimed for a single, supportive session only. Nowadays, it is common for me to work with people who decide to touch base on a regular basis - starting with an initial consultation, and then some follow ups later on. Ongoing or recurring work is typically informed by your needs and wants as the client, and depends entirely on the circumstances of your own spiritual journey.

  • I am indeed open to clients old and new, although there may be a bit of a waiting period at times as I am typically booked up to 4-12 weeks in advance. It is also worth mentioning that my Patreons are offered first dibs on availability.

Presently, my books are closed until further notice. I will make sure to advertise on the website when I am ready to take on clients again.

  • Hearth-Keeping consultations are my most popular offering, but I also offer soothsaying and fairy doctoring services. We would start by an email exchange so you can explain your situation to me, and so that I may help redirect you to the best and most appropriate offering, if need be.

After this initial contact, your down payment (payable over PayPal) is what effectively secures your booking with me. Please understand that I unfortunately cannot guarantee your booking until payment has been received.

In terms of the session itself, for a divination consult I would conduct the reading on my end (so you do not have to worry about scheduling any time aside for it), and once the divination has been performed, I would send you a recorded report that you can expect within a week after the reading was done. I work with a variety of mediums, including Gaulish runes and dreamwalking, but my preference goes to using a combination of oneiric cues, visionary cartomancy, and channelled writing. Any notes are recorded under direct spirit dictation, automatic writing allowing for further insight and clarity to sip through, and imbue each word.

On a case by case basis, and for magical services and spiritual assistance, I might require some kind of additional anchor to you to ensure I can do my work to the best of my ability, or to delve into things deeper, with your consent always. This may be a picture to aid in scrying sessions, or typically, a name or birth date to affix the correct treatment to the afflicted parties.

  • My basic rate for a consultation comes down to a flat £150, unless we are looking at some fairy doctoring - in which case, according to the stringent standards and prescriptions of my tradition, my services are entirely free of charge. Returning clients and Patreons also benefit from a discounted rate.

I am always willing to work with my clients’ circumstances and offer a variety of supportive means to be as accommodating as I can (including sliding scales, payment plans, charity donations, and bartering). Please go to my Services page to find out more under “Pricing”, or contact me for more information.

  • “If a potion is made up of herbs, it must be paid for in silver; but charms and incantations are never paid for, or they would lose their power. A present, however, may be accepted as an offering of gratitude. [A fairy doctor] must take no money for the opinion given. [They are] paid in some other way, by free gracious offerings in gratitude for help given.”

Lady Jane Wilde, Ancient Charms, Mystic Legends, and Superstitions of Ireland (1887)

As is prescribed by my tradition indeed, and as was expressively requested by my mentor and enforced by Themselves, my fairy doctoring services are entirely free of charge. These rules are not optional, and are part of the etiquette.

I appreciate this might be somewhat disconcerting, and I won’t deny I do need to be able to recoup the energy. However, please do bear in mind that right relationships and hospitality are fairy values: it matters to Them, and it matters to me. The spirits ordained this, so remember to thank Them: go out and burn a candle, give the Dead three drops of blood, or lay out a bowl of cream, honey or milk. In short: be a “good neighbour”, as it is not demanded but accepted as a donation out of what you feel you can spare.

  • You can use my contact form to get in touch with me and send in any enquiries you may have.

(A booking is only secured once payment has been received.)

  • I would be incredibly pleased to be considered for a partnership, thank you. I am a bit particular about my tastes but please contact me to discuss specifics, and let’s take it from there.
